Limited Tool Build: DIY Washer Dryer Laundry Storage Pedestal [Video]

It doesn’t take much research to figure out that most of the affordable store-bought furniture on the market is not worth the price. And any furniture that is sturdy enough to withstand years of use and abuse is way too expensive. The happy medium of affordable and durable? Building your own furniture.

If you’re pretty new to the DIY furniture or woodworking scene, don’t worry! Even with limited skills and tools, you can create some high-quality pieces to be proud of.

Many people’s first furniture project is a bookcase or some kind of storage unit. The project plans we have here are for a washer and dryer laundry storage unit designed by one of the industry’s top influencers, Stumpy Nubs. This build will teach you some new joinery — a step up from the absolute basics. It’s also great if you have limited tools or space to work in — you can finish this entire washer/dryer pedestal with just two power tools in your own driveway.
