How to Buy a Saw Guide

One of the easiest ways to up your game when it comes to DIY and woodworking projects is to use a saw guide when cutting with your circular saw. This is a super simple way to make sure every line you cut is straight as an arrow, which means you’ll waste less time and material dealing with uneven or inaccurate cuts.

Not only does a saw guide help you improve the quality of your projects, but it also won’t break the bank. That’s the golden combination, isn’t it? You can walk into pretty much any home improvement store (or browse on Amazon) and add a saw guide to your cart without any guilt over the price tag.

Plus, they’re super easy to use. At BORA Tool, we’ve designed our saw guides with clamping ends so they grip onto the edges of your material — meaning they won’t budge when you cut. (This is why we often call our saw guides “Clamp Edges”.) Whether you’ve got to break down a full sheet of plywood to size or trim off the uneven ends of a butcher block, you just adjust your guide to size, clamp it to your piece, and start cutting.

When it comes to shopping for a BORA Tool saw guide, it might seem like the options are endless, but really, you just have to make two choices:

  1. Which model of saw guide you want to use, and
  2. What accessories you need

 WTX Clamp Edge Saw Guide

WTX Clamp Edges

Our WTX line of saw guides is a longstanding customer favorite. These clamp edges have a handle on one end and a clamp on the other. To use it, you simply line it up with your measurement (allowing for offset from the circular saw), move the adjustable clamp end, and push down the handle to tighten the clamp. Now it’s locked on, so you can make your cut.

Find this model at Lowes or Menards.

NGX Clamp Edges

NGX Clamp Edge

The NGX Clamp Edge series is similar to the WTX, but it’s faster and easier to use. On one end, you have both the handle and the moving clamp to adjust the length, and on the other, you have a static clamp end. You can simply hook it across your material, adjust the handle to the right length, and lock the handle down in one smooth motion.

Find this model at Lowes or The Home Depot.

Clamp Edge Accessories

 Clamp Edge Accessories

We offer a variety of accessories to our saw guides so you can use your clamp edge with multiple tools in your shop. Some, like saw plates, are designed to work with specific clamp edge models — and this is specified in the product description. Others, however, can be used with either saw guide model, including our router plate, jig saw guide, and track clamps.
