Cutting miters or other angled cuts can be one of the most difficult parts of woodworking. If math isn’t one of your talents, or if you just don’t want to spend your time doing trigonometry, the BORA MiteriX Angle Duplicator is your new best friend.

Looking at the MiteriX though, it might seem more complicated to use than it really is. Here’s an easy step-by-step guide to help you see how simple it really is to use the MiteriX — and ultimately, to save yourself time, material, and money.
Step 1
Loosen the twisting lock in the center of the handle. This allows the metal wings to move easily so they can lay flat against the material where you’re measuring. Now line up your MiteriX along the angle you need to divide and push those wings up against the corner or angle. Tighten the lock so the arms don’t move. In this state, you have the full measurement of the angle you want to divide.
Step 2
Pull off the right arm. This halves the full angle you just measured, giving you the angle you need to cut — and no math was involved!
Step 3
Lay the handle of your MiteriX along the miter saw fence and line up your saw blade with the metal arm. Depending on the direction you need to cut, you may need to lay the handle upside down, but no worries — you’ll still get the correct angle.
Step 4
Cut your material. Simple and easy.
Step 5
Do it again! This time around, you won’t even need to measure — just swing your miter saw blade to the same angle in the other direction and cut. Then dry fit and move on to the next step of your project.
