Some might say 2020 was a year to remember; others might say it’s one to forget. Regardless, it was a year that will go down in history. For the BORA® team, it’s certainly been a novel year overall, and honestly one that we’d like to remember. Because even among the challenges and tragedies we faced, we had much good to celebrate among our small group.
Here are some highlights, both personal and professional, from the past year that we want to share!
February
February is typically the start of trade show season. Our sales rep Josh hit these early trade shows hard and got to do some traveling before everything was cancelled.
We also launched our PM-3800 High-Clearance Mobile Base this month and brought on two new Customer Service Representatives!
March
Quarantine started in March, as it did for everyone else. While we do have some out-of-state employees who always work remote, this was the first time in BORA®’s history that almost the entire company worked remote. Thank goodness for modern technology, which makes this possible!
This was definitely a month of firsts, as we were able to host our first-ever virtual showroom tour.
April
April was a month of uncertainty as we regrouped and restrategized to adapt to the new restrictions of the pandemic. These weeks were marked by teamwork as we all leaned on each other like never before.
P.S. – We are delighted to report that we were able not only to keep our team intact, but we were actually able to hire more people later in the year!
June
At the beginning of summer, we launched our CK22T Centipede Workbench Tabletop, a product that had been in development for over a year. Needless to say, we were thrilled to finally launch it!
At the same time, we hired our new Logistics Coordinator!
July
Adding the CK22T wasn’t the only change we made to our Centipede lineup. We also launched our 4x6 CK12S Centipede Workstand and our 2x4 CTC6 Workbench Height Centipede Workstand in the middle of July to add more variety to our sizes.
We even got to see our products on television this month! Chip Wade reviewed the Speedhorse on the program Coffee with America, which was very exciting.
October
Q4 was an extremely busy three months for us as we prepared for multiple monthly promotions leading up to and during the holiday season. Our big highlight from October was launching the PM-4550 Adjustable Leg Speedhorse XT. This launch was a lot of fun to work on, especially for our Product Development and Marketing teams.
November
At the beginning of the penultimate month of 2020, we were able to expand our Marketing team by bringing on our new Digital Channel Manager! This has been an exciting transition and we are thrilled to have him on board.
December
December kept us busy as ever, but we got to launch one last product for the year: our new PM-4520 All-Terrain Sawhorse. After a long time in development, it felt like a great holiday gift to ourselves to finally be able to make it available to everyone. Overall, in 2020 we launched five major products and three smaller products (our straight edge Rip Guide, the PM-950, and the new Black Wood Rack).
We also hosted our second annual 12 Days of Clamp-mas giveaway! This has been an exciting new tradition and a fun way to show our appreciation for our customers.
Other BORA® Tool Highlights
As a company, we have much to be grateful for and are so happy we can share these successes with you. We also got to see some fantastic things happening in our employees’ personal lives this year:
- Three employees got married this year
- One of our employees became a dad
- We hired four new team members
- We learned one of our Sales reps can ride a unicycle
